What this BMI calculator does
BMI Calculator estimates adult body mass index from height and weight. You can enter metric values or US units, switch between them, and see the converted values without starting over. The result includes the BMI number, the general adult category, and an estimated healthy-weight range for the selected height.
BMI is a screening estimate. It can be useful for a quick adult weight-range check, but it does not measure body fat directly and does not understand age, muscle mass, pregnancy, medical history, or body composition.
How to use it
Choose Metric or US, enter your height and weight, and read the estimated BMI result on the side. The preset examples can quickly fill common sample values, but your own values give the meaningful result.
If you switch between metric and US units, the calculator converts the entered height and weight so the BMI should stay consistent apart from normal rounding. Use the reset button when you want to start from a clean state.
Privacy and limits
The calculation happens in your browser. Your height and weight are not intentionally uploaded to a Utiloza server. Still, health-related numbers can be personal, so avoid entering sensitive information on shared or untrusted devices.

Frequently asked questions
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
No. BMI is a broad adult screening tool and can be misleading for athletes, older adults, pregnant people, and anyone whose body composition is not reflected by height and weight alone.
Why does the category matter?
The category gives a rough adult range such as underweight, healthy weight, overweight, or obesity. It should be considered with other health factors.
Does switching units change the result?
The result should remain essentially the same. Small differences can happen because converted values are rounded for display.
